KS2
RE is included in the humanities curriculum at KS2.
KS3 PRE
The purpose of Philosophy, Religion and Ethics (PRE) is to help students understand more about the world they live in by considering both religious and non-religious responses to big questions and ethical issues. Through the exploration of ideas and beliefs students will develop their critical thinking and analysis skills. Overall our aim is to Inspire curiosity and deepen our student’s understanding of the world as well as to encourage their Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural (SMSC) development.
PRE is included within the PSHE curriculum at KS4.
RE is provided for all pupils, and is inclusive and broad minded. Parents do have the right to withdraw pupils from RE: if you wish to discuss this, please contact the school office to make an appointment to see the Principal. The school does not support selective withdrawal from RE.
RSHE and PSHE
We follow the Jigsaw programme which we develop based on the needs of our pupils and in order to make explicit links to other areas of our discovery curriculum.
The same unit titles are used throughout for consistency with the topics developing in complexity and maturity.
