WRA student wins Young Hero category at the BBC Radio Suffolk Make a Difference Awards

Sep 19th

We are incredibly proud of our student, Ozzy Rayner, who won the Young Hero award at the BBC’s Make a Difference Awards this week.

The 14 year old won the trophy due to his fundraising efforts to help his friend Jake go on holiday.

Ozzy has a rare genetic condition called Prader-Willi syndrome, which causes a wide range of physical symptoms including enhanced appetite, learning disabilities and very low muscle tone.

Even though his condition makes it difficult to do physical exercise, Ozzy completed a 5km run – raising money to help Jake and his family pay for their holiday.

You can read more about the awards on the BBC website.

See you soon!

We are now closed for the holidays! We hope you enjoy your break and we look forward to seeing you back at school on  Thursday 3rd September.
