Our First External Football Match

On a wet, stormy Friday in November we had our very first football match with a local school.

Our team played fantastically, they were supporting and celebrating each other all the way through. The rain was torrential, they were frozen cold but they won 14 – 3. We are hoping to arrange a re-match next year sometime.

Power Up Visit From Sizewell C

We held a career event in association with Sizewell C.

Students learnt how to code Spheros and learned about how nuclear power stations work and the jobs that are available now and in the future at Sizewell.

End of Term Certificates

We will be giving out the end of term certificates in our assembly on the last day of term. There are:

  • 53 certificates for attendance of 92% or above this term.
  • 16 valued behaviour awards – for no detrimental behaviour points this term.
  • 12 Silver awards for more than 250 valued behaviour points.
  • 19 Bronze for more than 150 behaviour points.

Well done to all our students, we are proud of every one of them.

Sponsored Read

To celebrate and encourage a lifelong love of reading at home and school, we are running a sponsored read between 19th and 28th January 2026.

The project is being organised in conjunction with our local Usborne Partner, Frances Joyce, and all the money raised will go towards brand new books for our school. In addition to the sponsorship money, Usborne will also donate up to 60% of the total raised in EXTRA FREE BOOKS to the school.

So, for every £600 raised, we will get an extra £360 in FREE Usborne books! More information will be sent out in January.

Upcoming Dates of School Visitors

During our recent OFSTED inspection one of the areas we were particularly praised on was the post-16 advice and opportunities offered to our students.

We often have visitors into school to talk to pupils about their options once they leave us and we offer visits to post-16 providers.

In the autumn term we have had visitors from Suffolk New College and Eastern Education Group. Eastern Education Group runs both One College and West Suffolk College.

We are hoping that next term we will have a visit from Balfour Beatty to do a construction talk. TCHC should be coming in too. As soon as the dates for the visits are confirmed we will let you know.

We want to give our pupils the best advice on where they go to continue their education, or learn a trade once they leave Woodbridge Road Academy and by bringing in these providers and offering visits we hope we do this.

Managing Winter Illness

Now we are firmly in the cold and flu months and we know that it can be difficult to know whether to send a pupil in if they are feeling under the weather. The NHS has a useful website NHS guidance for parents, which is a useful resource to help parents decide when children should stay at home.

Family Meet Ups

From Wednesday 7th January 2026 we will be opening up our Visitors Room every Wednesday from 9.00-10.00.

This will be a chance for an informal chat with other parents/carers over a cup of tea or coffee and a biscuit. We look forward to welcoming you.

Pupil Celebration Ceremony

We are excited to announce that there will be a ceremony on 3rd July to celebrate pupils across Paradigm Trust who have displayed all three of Paradigm’s values (integrity; community; excellence).

This event will take place at Ipswich Academy on Friday 3 July, starting from 2:15pm. Parents/carers of children receiving awards will be invited to attend. We will send invites nearer the time.
